Eating is fun!

I just found these pictures taken last November and thought that Virginia was so cute in them, so I wanted to put them on here. Since she was just a little bit over 1 years old, we noticed she was really anxious to eat on her own so we let her do so. She really enjoyed eating everything at first, but eventually came to dislike green and red food, which is not good at all!!!:) She does like any kind of fruit though. We also noticed that she likes any soy bean product such as tofu, dougan (soy bean curd, it's like hard tofu in a way..mom, the stuff you like) and fucu (dried bean curd). One time a friend asked me how my Virginia could learn how to eat by herself at such young age (oh well, I don't really know how old a child usually eats on his/her own in average though). I told her, I found it's helpful to help a child to be more independent to try to trust and have faith in them, and allow them to try things without stopping them just because it might cause a mess (ohhh yeah) or bring inconvenience. I might sound like I know something about this stage of like, but the real truth is, I just let her do the things she was interested and in turn I could get a break! :D
