This is a little entry I want to make as I haven't done one before. I am not really "into" this type of thing, but I wish to take a moment and share a thought or two or ten.
Today was a wonderful day, a day to celebrate not only Yiwen's birthday, but her as a person and her as my eternal companion. It was fun too with some great memories. We went out to eat to a place called Sawadee, a Thai restaurant most have been to in Salt Lake except us, until today. It was great, what made it even funner though was the little birthday cake surprise most restaurants in North America do for customers if it is their birthday. I did the typical, "I got to go check something" or "I'll be right back, gotta go to the bathroom" thing and talked with the manager and asked if they do anything like give a piece of cake with a candle and sing for someones birthday. I expected they would and he said, "Yes, we have fried bananas with a candle". I thought, "um, okay, that sounds like the best we are gonna get". So when it came down it, a few waiters came out with some ice cream and friend bananas, which were I should say, awesome. They started singing their rendition of Happy Birthday with a little accent and then sang, "Happy Birthday to..what's your name?.." This may be one of those "you need to be there to know" type of things, but it was just one of those great memories in life you will remember and remind yourselves of too many times. It was great!
The greatest part of this day was celebrating life. Celebrating time and the blessings of being together and enjoying the fact that what you have together is the strongest and most powerful part of any society. A family, a husband and wife will always be the most powerful thing in this world. I realized once again that there will be no invention so great, no DC :) sports team so wonderful, and just nothing greater than the things a husband and wife do within our lives and within their home. When it comes down to it, I will steal a quote from baseball legend Lou Gehrig, when he said, "I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the earth". There is a part of that speech though that most don't know for whatever reason. He said, "When you have a wife who has been a tower of strength and shown more courage than you dreamed existed - that's the finest I know." These were his words said more than 65 years ago in context to being associated with baseball for years and being able to play with some of the greatest players. I use those same words in context to my wife.
While such praises are sometimes kept private, I wish to just share a last thought. It's a blessing to have the most pure, unselfish, and nonjudgmental person I know in my life. While many including myself have the tendency to simply make assumptions about someone or something, I can say, I have never heard a word or thought of such from her mouth about anybody or anyones situation. There are many things I as her husband could say about Yiwen, but I just wanted to use and I mean use and take advantage of this little blogger machine to say something concerning my wife and best friend on this day. What lucky kid(s) we will have to have such great mom!

That's beautiful Charles. Happy birthday to Amber! We're glad to know you guys - you really are a super couple. May the next year be even better than the last.
ps. I love how your quotes about the family still come from sports players. haha! That's awesome.
pps. I love Sawadee - Yum! Try the duck curry.
Definitely go back again! I'm really satisfied with it! Love the steamed sea bass, the curry and Pad Thai. That steamed fish is perfect and it my favorite!!! The duck curry sounds really good and I'd love to try next time!
By the way, do you know what dish served in a hot pot type of thing there?? Before we left, we saw some people had that.
Wanna a date out with Wami?? It's just a call away! (You have our phone numbers!)

Charles, that's very beautiful!
Now, I felt bad we were out of town and couldn't help you on your special date. I'm glad you found someone else.
Don't feel bad at all, Wami! It's us feel bad that we always ask you guys for watching Ailing. But you guys were so great and so helpful though, so we probably will keep asking you for that!
